Just saw a commercial on television hawking a Forged In Fire Chef's Knife for$29.95, complete with cheesy "abuse" tests. Anyone know anything about this?

You got me, I had to google it. On the history store website, it says:

For optimal use and shelf life, carefully wash with warm water after use and dry, or place in the dishwasher.

I don't know what's worse, dishwasher or "shelf life".

There’s not much to know. Cheap mass produced kitchen knife with tv show branding slapped on.

So, was this "sanctioned" by FiF? If so, do they foresee the show ending and are trying to get the last few $$ they can from a near-dead horse? Or has the name been pirated?
Just a curiosity.

Many shows have merchandise. It is about generating revenue. FIF is one of the most popular shows on the History Channel. It is no where near a dead horse.

I just hope it was the decision of the show producers, and that the judges are not part of agreeing to this....if they did, I sure hope they got a ton of $$ for selling out. I would like to think that they didn't, but at some point, it may just be stupid not to take the endorsement money, I know it some point it gets pretty compelling.

When I lived in Miami, one of the Deadliest Catch Captains (Keith) was at a supermarket near my house for a publicity event.....long way from Seattle or Alaska.
