Got a new model in, but have been too busy to flap my gums about it - it's a 15 inch sirupati with a horn handle and scroll work along the spine. I have three left at the "$60.00 including shipping" intro price.

The size precludes this khukuri from being serious chopping model, but they are a very elegant looking khukuris with some real slicing appeal. Sort of like a Bhojpure on a diet.

Two are gone - one left. Any takers? For now, the last one is sitting on my desk as a letter opener - an insult to the kamis!

Clay: glad you like it. I always am juggling my "favorite" of the month, but right now, the sirupati is it. I know Berkeley says that the 18 inch sirupati is his ideal khukuri - how can he choose

(he has got a lot of nice ones).

PS: Here's Berkley's 18 inch sirupati "berkeley special":

Thought you might want to see what we can do given a little time.

Clay: I don't know how they do it (well, I do, but I respect the hell out of the whole process). Get this: berk's UPS guy got the box wet and the blade rusted in places. Fortunately, it was light and he was able to restore the blade (thank God)!

Clay and Craig,
Getting this knife was the biggest emotional roller coaster I've ever ridden over a mere material object. Spent months designing just what I wanted, a long time making up my mind to really order it, an eternity waiting for it to arrive. Finally came, ripped it out of the box,Omigarsh it's more beautiful than I hoped, but why is it wet and...COVERED WITH ORANGE RUST ON THE OTHER SIDE!!!!! AAAAHHHRGH!!

All I can say is thank goodness for Flitz. There's`some light pitting that can't be removed, but on the whole it survived the ordeal pretty well. And since it wasn't "perfect" anymore, I decided to take it out back and chop some seasoned black walnut just for the heck of it

. Great chopper, no effect whatsoever on the razor edge, mirror finish or engraving, and I can definitely say this is one fancy knife that isn't just a wall hanger.

Berk,

You know, a good polishing wheel (like the one I have) will remove that pitting in a snap. If you ever want me to give it a whirl (no pun intended), send it to me and I'll see what I can do.

Craig.

Craig,
I appreciate the offer, and if I'm ever going to be in your neighborhood I'll let you know and bring the special with me for a touch-up polish. But somehow I don't think I'll be giving it to anybody else to carry for me ever again!
