This one has a 8.5" long blade of 114 layers of 5160 and L6. Fittings are of the same billet and the handle is Gaboon Ebony.

I gave the handle/blade junction an ever so slight cant for right handed carry....ala Bagwell.....

The sharpened clip is deadly (cut me thrice in the making) and the 5/16" spine can really cleave.

Let me know whatcha think.............

fantastic-looking blade -- you've got those fighters down pat.

Love your knives Greg and hope to acquire one sometime. This one is just super.

Awesome work, Greg. The proportions on that knife are really nicely balanced and the handle looks like a real cozy grip. The damascus fittings add a nice toucch and the steel and wood compliment each other nicely. Excellent overall package.

Greg, as Master Po would say to Kwai Chang Kane, "You have snatched the pebble from my hand; it's time for you to leave the temple."

:)

I'm not sure your teacher could do it any better. That is an awesome bowie!

Thanks Danbo.....this quote really gave me a laugh!

Hey Tony how do you like this knife?
It's Grrrrrrrrrrrreat!
Tony, in this case, is the Tiger - for you non-breakfast eaters.

Beautiful knife, Greg. Damascus & Ebony one of my favorite combos.

to heap on the praise (and repeat some of what i said in the knifemakers gallery) - this piece is the whole package. great shape on the blade, leading into a very set of fittings, flowing into a beautifully contoured piece of ebony. thanks for the great 'in-progress' shots of it also - nice to see.

sent you an email also, curious if this one is still looking for a home.

man, when i saw this my eyes got big and my breath cuaght in my chest. that doesnt happen very often. WOWZERS   :D

One sweet handle...I love the color / pattern of that Gaboon Ebony...is it dyed or is the beautiful blue hue natural?

Just a natural hue...could be the lighting in the pic......

I bought the ebony at the local WoodCraft store. Nice selection of exotics and the chunk of gaboon I bought should do me for 6-7 handles.
