Here is some W2 forged into a slender fighter profile and clay quenched. The handle is naturally featured diamond willow with bronze pins and copper liners. Some humble filework on the spine. Hope you enjoy.

A different angle and lighting to show hamon better...

That looks to be an extremely well done piece with a frontier
style. Tasteful filework too. Why willow..?

I REALLY LIKE that.
Great possibilities for a primitive style sheath.
Very nice images as well.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate you looking.

Russ... I was using that willow.. which is very tough stuff actually... for a straight peen hammer that I made for myself and I saw that it had very interesting character. The person I was making this particular knife for was looking for unique handle material and I thought this might work out. I like it enough that I'm going to send a bunch out for stabilization. There is an old fellow nearby that seasons this stuff for walking sticks and brought some cut-offs to me thinking I could use them.

Very nice looking piece.....Like the diamond willow, Nice work !

I have been watching your knives for a while enjoying your use of unusual materials. I am torn between calling your style "Primitive" or "Post Apocalyptic". They all seem to have great craftsmanship yet a tortured appearance. I don't know if I am making sense, but I really like your unique style. Can't wait to see what you do next.

By the way, great photographs as well.

I know what you mean Mark... Says something about myself I guess: A tortured looking craftsman! But you can blame it on Keeslar and his idea of the knife paradox finding a place in my mind. And a love old stuff and nature I guess.

Thanks for all the great comments!

Wow.. Not what I expected and boy I like it. I really like the juxtaposition of the rough handle and forge texture with the clean grinds and lines of the blade. The choice of grins style really sets this one apart. Great looking knife. And yeah, those photos are perfect. Really artistically done.

This piece has a ton of character and just really looks "right" to me. Well done.
