Needless to say I was in the mood to make a fighter over the weekend.

This one has a forged 7.5 inch blade of 5160...3X normalized, 3X edge quenched, 3X tempered. Thickness at the ricasso is nearly 3/8".

The grip material came from a war against terrorists nearly 30 years ago. The hardwood was given to me by a veteran who brought it back from Vietnam....and I have saved it for the last ten years for a special piece. The wood is nearly black with a slight reddish brown streak in the bottom.

It is shown here with a Byrd copy of a Vietnam era Randall riveted sheath.

Felt good to get out and pound on some hot steel.

Nice!!!!

A piece like yours will definately bring great joy and comfort to some Soldier or Marine preparing for our new war.

It is great to see the handle material getting used for another fighter.

I don't generaly do fighting knives, but I just finished the first of a pair of Bowies, 5 1/2 in hollow ground blades, 9 1/2 overall. They look more Bruce E. than Eric E.(not that I'm complaining :D ) My wife's comment was "don't try to take that on an airplane" I'm rambling and off the point.

Lovely knife.

The clean lines say PURE FIGHTER! That's awsome! The handle material is really beautiful. An appropriate design considering recent events.
