Here are a few shots of a fighting bowie I am working on. Forged w2, 9.5" blade, 416 fittings, California buckeye burl handle, and hamon.

This is some of the best hamon work I've done to date. Of course, I can't get a photo to come out worth a damn. I even built a light box and bought all the photo software I could find.

I better have Coop take a shot of this at Blade :).

First three pics aren't coming through for me but that is a beautiful bowie Matt. Wish I could see the hamon, you do some great work man.

Ditto for me on 1st 3 pics...last 3 look good.
Really nice looking knife.
Hope to see you in Atlanta.

Is there anything not to like about this knife. A great piece of wood, from what I can see an excellent hamon, and really nice lines. To me this is your best so far.

Matt,
Can see the hamon best in third picture,is that the flash?
Have no doubt you'll sell out at Blade:thumbup: ,hoping you have some of that gorgeous California Buckeye burl left.
Stunning Bowie.

Doug:)

Thanks dudes!

Doug, that is the flash, that's about the only way I could get the hamon to stand out. I'll take the knife outside a little later and see if I have better luck.

Matt

Matt,

Hover a 4"x18" piece of black cardboard to reflect onto your blade, and then shoot with the lighting or outside. that hamon will only come out with a black background.

The reason the flash worked is the camera adjusted to compensate for the brightness, and the relative brightness of the outside reflections were much darker. Like it was black.

Sorry I won't be at Blade. 600 tables and there is only one photographer officially allowed at the worlds largest knife show. Don't get me started..... :grumpy:

Coop

Thanks for the tip Coop I'll give that a try. Sorry to see you won't be at the show. I'll have to mail something to you :).

DAMN! Look'n good my friend! :D

I see your visit with Burt has rubbed off on you a bit ;) Love everything about it Matt!!!
