I just finished this one for a friend. The blade is 1075 steel 10" X 1.5" X .25".
The guard is also steel. After I welded the guard in place I heated the assembly to glowing red and quenched it in strained used motor oil. I then tempored it at 375 degrees for a half hour. The handle is quilted maple with leather spacers applied with an expanding appoxie. The pommell is .5" thick alluminum threaded to the 3/8" thick tang (cranked down with channel locks).
The lefthand sheath is heavy harness leather with side ties for midthigh and an 8" drop at the beltloop. He said he needed a heavy duty trailblazing knife. I charged him $100 for the finished product. He's happy with it.
Thank's for looking.
