I made this from 1095 steel. The blade is just short of 11" X 1/4" thick.
The handle is fiddleback maple with leather spacers.

From the forge the blade gets quenched in strained used motor oil. The guard is welded on the handle side and soldered on the blade side ( for looks ). I weld 3/8" threads to the 1/4" X 3/8" tang. The handle is held tightly in place with expanding epoxy and an aluminum pommel is tightened in place with channel locks.I leave the filing marks on the blade ( I think the marks add to the looks. More rugged. ).
I have it on e-bay with a starting price of $150 . I think that's a fair price.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Mike Stevenson

Hopefully the bidding will take the price up to a reasonable point. To me, that knife looks like it is worth quite a bit more than $150.00. You did a good job, and the sheath looks really good as well.

That is a beautiful knife!! It likes like it is worth a lot more than $150 to me!!

Thanks for the compliments.
I hope it will go for more than the starting price. There's no reserve . If it doesn't bring $ 150 I'll be pretty shocked.
