I made this as a field carry knife. The blade is a tang out of an old barn ( farming impliment) .I'ts 8.75" x 1.25" x 3/16 " , hollow ground . The handle is curly maple. The pommel is the same steel. The sheath is harness and bridle leathers with sharpening stone. I'm going to start making this sheath with a boot hook instead of a belt loop. I hate fooling with belt loops. A boot hook lets you pick up your knife on the way out the door and slip it right onto a belt or pocket ( I live on a farm not in the city ).

Thanks . I like keeping them simple and functional . I like a knife that I'm not afraid to hurt. I don't do much polishing . I like the look of the steel still slightly darkened by the quenching. Well, actually I'm lazy and hate buffing/polishing. But I do like the look. I have knives that rarely see the light of day. They're the ones that I've bought. I like seeing my knives with signs of use, hanging on belts. In other words , they're ugly enough to use.
