Started this one at auction yesterday.
Always liked tantos. We'll see how it does.

Did you make it? What are the dimensions? What blade steel? It's a very good looking piece! I hope it does well for you at auction....

This is one of mine. It's 1075 spring steel. Just shy of 15" O.A.
The blade is 9.13/16" X 1.1/4" X 1/4" thick. The guard, bolsters,
and pommel are steel (welded to the tang). The scales are Curly Maple.
I make my sheathes from heavy 12oz. leather (3/16"-1/4"). They are cemented at the spine and handstitched with doubled waxed nylon
saddle thread.
The rivits and snap are steel instead of brass (takes abuse well).

Thanks for looking,
Mike

That's not a tanto. See, I can tell, because I don't like tantos, and I'm absolutely blown away by that.

Seriously, awe-inspiring work. Looks liek it cant decide to slice or chop, so it's just going to give you the best of both.

Thanks for the kind words.
This is a design that I plan to continue making
for a while. I tweek it from time to time with
slight changes to the guard or blade length, but
otherwise I leave it alone.
