Figure out who is giving you a bad rep?

Platinum members and those who enjoy platimum status ex officio can see who gave 'em rep points.

Super moderators can look at your record and see who gave you a rep point, but the policy is that this is only done if there's a threat made or some such thing.

Basically one or two points one way or the other ain't worth worrying about.

Depending, it's probably a blessing not knowing you're rep points people. I've gotten some positive, which I appreciate, a few negative too, but that's fine.

Now that we're in the Service & Support forum ...

Everybody please read the new & improved Reputation Points FAQ sticky thread in Service & Support. It's new! It's improved! It's spiffy! It will answer all your questions! If it doesn't, post questions in Service & Support!

Cougar,

Again, my apologies. I really don't mean to keep posting in the wrong forum or asking "already asked" questions.

:)

Thanks for being so cool about it anyway.

Cheers,
David

David, look at it this way: if they don't sign it, and they don't make any comments, then their input is pretty well useless, isn't it?

A pat on the back is a pat on the back, but criticism without comments is a tiny temper tantrum.

Yeah, I've gotten dinged a couple times. No comments at all left, either. So far I can tell exactly who did it because of the context of the message or thread where the negative points were given. Retaliation, however, is beneath me.

For what it's worth, when people tell me they know who did it they turn out to be wrong most of the time.

Always possible. It could have been some rampaging leg-humper, but in both cases, I had a little friction in the each thread with a single person because of some ill-timed sarcasm on my part. That some idiot would randomly try to ding me in the same two places I put my foot in my mouth seems unlikely. I shouldn't say I know for certain until I buy platinum in a few months, but I think the odds are good.

I wouldn't place too much value on the rep points, there are people who have been here for years who have very few points and yet I "usually" respect their opinions and there are people who had only been here a short while and I "usually have very little respect for their opinions, and still there are people with flipped circumstances who elicit the same respect from me.

Be your self don't worry so much about how manny points you have the conten and context of your posts and replies will determine whether or not your opinions are taken seriously or just disregarded.

Be yourself and have fun, now where are my + rep points?

Personally, I would just as soon not know who the person is when they give me a bad reputation point.
