And, one more commission. This was designed and built to be a "crude" mountain man-esque piece for a former Canadian Forces soldier. He didn't want a highly refined safe surfer. Very simple and very quick to build. I really like this knife!!

Blade: 6 3/4" x approx 1/4" of forged old "Martin" bastard file with 1200 grit hand rubbed finish bevels.
Handle: 5" of Birdseye Maple with 1/8" brass pins and a buffed Tung oil finish.
Sheath: 6-7 of W&C leather with buffed Mink oil finish.

Nothing remotely crude about any of that....beautifully functional.

I love the working pieces.... Looks great!

Thank you folks.

Rolf - I have a a bunch of this stuff and I plan on doing exactly that. I even have a 20" saya piece set aside. It was firewood and actually has a lot more color and chatoyance, and a nicer polish than I was able to capture.
