Hey guys so I'm pretty new to knife making and have a question regarding tempering.
So I found and old farriers rasp at a garage sale and thought it would make a pretty cool knife.
I have never had much success with heat treating so I thought I would try and make the knife without annealing the rasp. The knife itself came out pretty good but I am unsure regarding the tempering process. I have heard that farriers rasps may not be as hard as regular files and thought perhaps I should leave the knife as is.
I hope this makes sense
