Hi Guys

Sorry not sure if this is the right forum for this
I recently decided to try a wave mode on my ZT200ST

I know exactly what to do. Prob is don't know what to use
None of the files or sharpening stones at home even make the slightest impression on the blade.

I was thinking maybe a very course diamond stone or file. Any recommendations?

Thanks a lot in advanced:)

Diamond might work, but I'd say it's slow going. Might want to ask Charlie Mike about that, he's the expert in all wave mods. Not sure if he uses a dremel, though I heard you can easily ruin the temper with it. If it was me, I'd draw an outline of how the wave hook is supposed to look on the blade and drill a few holes with a cobalt bit in a drill press(with plenty of lube), then either hacksaw the rest of it or file it down to match the lines.

You won't be able to drill or hacksaw that blade. Buy a cheap Dremel tool and some bits. The small abrasive cutoff wheel will have no problem with a hardened steel blade. Dip the blade in water as you go to keep it cool but since you aren't anywhere near the cutting edge with a wave mod, losing the temper is not really an issue. A small grinding wheel bit will clean up the cut and make the final shape. Take your time and it will turn out great.

Couldn't afford a dremel or find anyone who had one so took a chance with a landsky Diamond stone
Too 5 hours of grinding but came right

It's not perfect but works like a charm

I thought you were adding a wave notch, which requires a slot. Your mod would have been easiest with a belt sander----I'd bet less than a minute with a 100 grit belt. :)

I did try that. but don't have access to any of those tools. This isn't quite finished through

When I find someone with a dremel and sander I will add the notch just above the thumb stud.
This was just to get me going.
I have to take away the slope in front of the thumb grip anyway, and had nothing to do this week end :)
