How do I eliminate images that I no longer need/want, from my File Upload Manager?

I have 23 pages of images and probably 21 of those pages, I no longer need.

Thanks for anyone's help, it's appreciated.
 
There was a thread on this a while back and I don't think anyone figured out a real solution.

If the clutter is annoying, you can go here, scroll almost to the bottom, and turn off "Enhanced Attachment Uploading". Then use the Attachments page to delete stuff.

If you switch the "Enhanced" thing back on though, your attachments will still be listed despite being deleted in your settings. It's weird.
