I just finished this Bowie and I was wondering what everybody thinks about doing filework on the choilarea of a knife along with the spine ?

i feel it completes the ornamentatiom of the file work, that wat it does't just look like file work, it looks like the blade was made that way! if you catch my drift.

VERY nice work Bruce. I'm always amazed at the symmetry and "cleanliness" of your filework. The pattern on the choil really compliments the piece well, somehow makes it look more complete.

Actually Bruce I have to ask you the same question that the person who taught me how to make knives asked me; "why filework in the choil area and not on the underside of the tang?"

Kisu,That is a simple question to answer: It is because this is a hidden tang knife..I have fileworked the whole center of the handle before and it looked really nice also.....

Thanks for all the great comments guy's,My wife say's that you are making my head swell to much.....Thats cool though,Bruce

Hi Bruce
I like it!
When I was buying custom knives from the maker I always requested that the filework run unbroken completely around the non-sharp edge, from the tip of the knife right on back thru the scales, around the butt, along the bottom edge right on to the end of the choil.
Since I never use the customs cleaning was not an issue

Good Job!
