filework on the back

Hi,
I have a question that I hope someone can answer from experience (or with common sense).
I am on the lookout for a new hunting/bushcraft knife for quite some time now and the most beautiful one I have seen till today is Ryan Wilson's "tactical hunter". Really gorgeous as well as practical and a fine pair with the classic fighter of the same maker. You can see it at:

The knife is quite expensive though and... it has filework on it's back.
My question now is: woulnd't this filework get "in the way" when pressure is needed and cause a sour thumb? I'm curious what you think of this.

On the picture that almost looks serrated!

I would imagine it would hurt, or at least be uncomfortable... maybe you could get them to make you one without those on the back? ...an email to them might answer your questions as well.

it helps to keep your thumb from slipping while applying pressure. I wouldn't think it would bother you unless you have girlie hands.

Well, girlie hands or not, I decided not to take the chance. I went for the Bark River Snowy River instead. Thanks for the input though.
