Truely a level of craftsmanship that elevates knife making to among the finest of arts. When I look at examples such as these I can't help but imagine this is the type of blade a king or lord would carry. If this was stuck in a collection of a nation's crown jewels no one would doubt it was meant to be there.

How rare to see filigree work at all. Always interesting and appealing...

...however, THIS style you have finished is especially rewarding. The scrolling curves and the usage of strips as ribbons is unfamiliar and fresh.

What a pleasure to admire. Commission? Available?

Good thread!

Thank you all!
From time to time, I like to play with filigree. I think it matches well with mosaic damascus. This time, I wanted to add some color to my project. Actually, it's my second attempt to heat color damascus. I used NitreBlue bluing salt from Brownells. If somebody is interested how to make filigree, here is a link to one of my previous posts on Bladeforums with some photos and a brief description of the process - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...iligree-dagger-with-some-basic-filigree-steps
This dagger was not a commission, I made it for fun. So, it's available.

So good to see your work again. The design and craftsmanship are exceptional, as usual. Always a pleasant change of pace. Thanks for posting.
