Hello everybody!

Let me introduce you my new project - Filigree Fighter.

Blade: Turkish twist damascus from Zladinox
Dimensions: 9 1/2" x 1" x 3/16"
Overall length: 14 1/2"

Handle:
Mammoth ivory
Sterling silver
Garnets

Stand:
Black marble
Sterling silver

I have one question for everybody. I personally really like daggers. But I noticed that my other knives, such as fighters, typically generate more interest. Does this mean that in general daggers are less interesting for the most of BladeForums members and visitors than other knives?

Any comments/critique/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for looking

Vlad

I'm finding the swell of the handle spacer to be distracting, if it were more in line with the blade and handle profile, I think it would have much better flow
that aside, this knife is a real thing of beauty, and showcases your skill and talent at a very high level

Gorgeous!
Sterling is a bit soft, handle with care... Did you do casting and engraving all by yourself?
Not easy make a good cast with silver, I do it but as I said not easy to do.
Your work is very great!

Lorien, thank you for this comment. I agree with it. Such comments are really important. I'll keep that in mind when I start working on my new project.

Il Coltellaio, thank you! It's not casting, it's filigree technique. Here is a link to one of my previous posts on Bladeforums with some photos and a brief description of the process - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...iligree-dagger-with-some-basic-filigree-steps

Hi Vlad -- a nice piece that is the baby brother to mine. Some small differences, most notably in the
filigree work on the stand and as Lorien commented is another difference plus fewer Garnets. Still wish I could have gotten the basket guarded dagger from a year or so ago but the markets and the $ with other expenses just kept my wallet closed. Never tire of looking at and handling the four knives I have of yours and everyone is very exclamatory when viewing the images I carry on my phone to show others. Great work as usual my friend.
