1095 with a good heat treat is still the best. I have a handful of knives in other steels, like AUS8 & the 440 series, etc., but all the newer stuff is just alphabet soup to me. I read up on every new steel that comes out, and the more I learn, the more I like good ol' 1095. :thumbup:
