I wont to do some file work on my PM2's blade (s30v) .

Are yall using a dremel tool or hand file ?

Any help keeping the pattern the same ?

Any help with the pattern ?

I have a standard jewelers file set and a diamond set. I find the diamond set cuts faster but the standard set cuts a finer line to I often start with the diamond files to set the pattern then finish with the standard to get fine, sharp lines.
You can google "file work on knives", etc. and get a lot of pictures of file work. Lots of great ideas.
Unfortunately it is hard to do file work on a finished, hardened knife steel compared to pre heat treated steel. It takes more effort...sometimes much more effort hehehe.

I suggest you get some mild steel, etc. from a machine shop, etc. and practice.

S30V will probably ruin a fine file. I think it will be much to hard even with a Dremel. The Dremel will want to jump out of the cut with a sanding drum or grinding wheel. You might be able to start with a cut off wheel then enlarge the cut. BUT!!! practice, practice, practice. Go to a pawn shop and get some old cheap knives to practice on. Or buy a handful of Rough Riders, Opinels and Mora for practice. Great knives to boot.

I bought a cheap set of diamond needle files from amazon a while back, been using them for over a year and they work great on every kind of steel I've filed.
