Filling the knife box - now what?

Do some people wind up buying more knives because of reading about what everyone else has gotten? Is it the thrill of the hunt, trying to get what is hard to find, takes long to get and seems to answer your prayers on the spot?

I am finding myself going through all sorts of reasoning and calculation as to why I need to get more knives, more than I can carry. Rationalizing for less expensive models; rationalizing for custom models.

I keep telling my wife I'm gonna start selling what I had once liked but don't seem to want to carry. But I have not broken out the digi-cam as yet -- but certainly have bought more knives.

Where is Knives Anonymous when some of us need it?

Listen, you seem to be working yourself into some sort of quandry or crisis over this thing. Why don't you do yourself a favor: take some deep breaths and relax. When you are calmed down and feeling better, head on out to the store and buy yourself a new toy....That's what I do anyway. :D

remember their is no cure for this illness we have.do like i do buy yourself a new knife and kick back and enjoy the ride-lol

I thought I'd be able to make this a self supporting habit. Buy what looks like a good deal, sell 'em and buy what I really want. Well the way its turned out is that I buy a good deal, like it and keep it AND the still go out and buy what I really wanted. Every now and then I'll sell one, but at the most it'll pay for some of the shipping bills I run up weekly. At least trading here on the forum is saving me a little money and I still get the joy of opening a box and finding a new knife. Although I'm beginning to run out of knives that I'm willing to trade.

Don't want it, don't need it, thank you.

So what if I'd rather buy a new knife than to eat?? :D ;) :D

Who has time to eat.
There are knives out there that I have not even seen yet :)

Weird thing is, each time I go to write up my list of the ones to put up for sale, I keep winding up with maybe one or two. There are customs that I figured I'd get rid of, but then suddenly I'm finding all sorts of reasons to keep them.

What's up with that?

A few years ago when I first discovered quality otf's on the web I remember thinking I would never spend that much for a knife (and I love knives). Now after only 5 microtechs I find myself (seriously)considering... "custom Knives".

Is there no end? Will I always be one knife away from the perfect One?
