I am working on a knife and I am going to use buckeye
on.I cut the block to get my scales, one of the scales
has ditch like voids in it how do you go about filling
them in?
Thanks

Depending on the size of the voids you could try filling them with crazy glue gel.give ample time to cure..good luck

Allan said it first... Super/Crazy glue will fill just about any void and look natural.... I fixed a chink in Carbon Fiber that way and you couldnt tell there was any problem after....

Yep, super glue is the ticket. For larger voids you can build up layers by letting them dry in between applications. There are also thicker forumulas like Zap a Gap that build up more quickly. Small and medium size voids fill in best. Larger voids tend to show because they dry clear.

I like super glue because it actualy heals the internal problems while filling the gap.

hint, if you spay the handle with excelerator first, the super glue will harden almost immediatly and it won't take long at all to fill a large hole.:D

Another trick is to use 100 grit sandpaper with super glue.

Dab the superglue into the void, then quickly sand a few strokes with the sandpaper.

Do this in layers until the void is gone. You will nedd a new piece of sandpaper for each application as the super glue will gum it right up.

Adds just enough of the native material so the fill doesn't look strange.
