Has anyone got one of these vest by Filson? I have decided that it would be ideal for taking equipment, etc; for a half-day hunt...it would easily hold a gps, compass, flashlight, knife, calls, shells, etc; for a hunting trip.
It is very expensive and I was just wondering if they are worth the money? Thanks!

I bought the guide vest version (most pockets) for similar purposes (hiking mainly). Sadly I have not used it for such purpose because I bought a Camelback and find that it seems most practical for both carrying drinking water as well as supplies.

I keep telling myself that I will take up fly fishing at some point though :)
(they are expensive but very well made and functional)

What camelback model did you purchase? How much room does it have for supplies? I may also consider it.
I really do appreciate your reply.

The transformer. You can go to their web site for more specifics, but it allows you to use three different configurations that allow you to scale up the amount carried. I like the flexibility. For example, when I go canoeing I just use the water carrier with no additional storage attached to the pack. (Just a carabiner and SAK attached to the shoulder straps)

I think it's in the 1000 cu in range.

You might check out the Photo-Journalist vest at www.arktis.co.uk

It's a little bit tactical, but not as tactical as their other stuff.
