Thank you every one who helped me on design and posting pictures. I have decided on two models, one plain.

And one with a saw.

The saw will be similar to the one on the glock field knife. Now these probably wont be the final models if you continue to help me with better design, so help is still very welcome. What do you guys think? O ya and i still need a sheath. what do you think kydex or nylon?

i like the overall look. at least it's not the Condor "axe" thing :)

but i hate the saw. fiskars makes a more practical saw for $8, that is easy to get, carry, and replace, than a good axe.

me? i'd like to see this heavy, and thick, and possibly have a brush hook under the head of the axe, or a sweeping blade curve too.

oh, BK-12? '''rsk mkii Prototype''' roughly designated for that, afaik. though the ultimate production of that should come as a little surprise later. don't know if the number will be used, or retired.

Bladite

I too like the looks of a sweeping blade curve. But, in my experience, that style wouldn't work well with the saw shaft. I've always used a swept blade axe in a "chocked-up" grip for stripping bark and the such. Very rarely do I have use for the whole length of that blade when chopping.

Others experience will vary... but for me, the saw on the shaft would prohibit quite a few uses I expect from an axe.

i am not a big fan of the saw either i had a request for it so i thought i would give it a try. i am not quite sure what you mean by a sweeping blade curve can you give me and example?

This is more along the lines of something I would like, HOWEVER, when using a small axe/hawk my hand is usually about 1/3 up the haft from the bottom, which is the only fault I see with using the becker handle on this. If you do use it, I think the handle should be angled somewhat like the Becker Machax is, but all I have access to at the moment is MSPaint and can't figure out how to show that.

Kyle.

By the way, in my haste of posting up this version, I forgot to add that I think a Becker axe is actually a very cool idea.

It needs an edge below the ax head for baton type situations.

The axe head itself would suffice for batoning needs. The draw knife might be a good idea provided it would not weaken the handle. One idea might be use Esee's idea and install a fire drill divot maybe in the axe head.

An idea I think would be a good one is to have an optional choice of just axe with a
Codura sheath and an option of axe with codura or kydex with an integrated sheath to accompany the bk11 stainless and sell as a package.

I like it!
I must admit that the saw and draw knife options are, to me, excessive.
The brush hook, on the other hand, seems to fit in with the the overall concept.
Another benificial addition is a slight "choil" under the head providing a safe way to choke-up on the shaft to do detailed work with the axe head.
Just my two cents:D

One thing, on the back side I wonder how hard it'd be to thicken it so it could be used for hammering? I guess it'd be a 1/4", maybe a 1/2-3/4" on the back side just for hammering? But I do like insomnia's look with edges sharp not rounded and the ideal of it bent is good I think!
I made a small axe once. It was a total of 15" with a 7" cut edge and was bent at handle like Machax and it worked very well, where is that thing at anyway. Something else I put on it was arrow holes three different sizes it helped with weight and with a nice straigh arrow. I also put on a saw on it's back but it didn't work out so I ground it down before I got to far into it. I put a lot of holes thinking it would help with weight but I don't think that's a good ideal but one for arrows I think is a good ideal. Would go along great with the AH-1

Now I don't make knives so don't laugh at this but I wanted to try and it seemed to be a good ideal just not able to get it the way I pictured it, anyway this is it.
