I just ordered the Spyderco Endura 4 -Plain Edge. Sure excited since I made a decision based on help from many of you.

Great choice , bro...I've got a WHITE handle one....Plain edge, that I have CONVEXED....It's awesome...You'll love it....

I ordered from A. G. Russell site and they only listed black in the cheaper Endura 4 models. I saw a lot of colors on another website but forgot it.

I also own the white endura. it's way too big for what i need. I do own 4 delicas however.

The colored ones are heavier, more features, etc. than the Endura 4 Black like I bought at Russell.I tried to cancel my order and it had been done, so I will be happy with what I get

There are no bad choices with any Endura. Use it in good health, it will serve you well for a long time.

the colored ones are actually lighter than the regular ones due to the FFG blade but only by a few ounces. they don't really have any other features other than the different blade grind. Don't worry about saber grind vs full flat grind. the saber grind gives you a stronger blade, the FFG gives you a better slicer so it's a trade off.

This is very true. They are one of the staple knives from spyderco and will be for a long time to come.

you will love that endura . i used my ffg mirrow polished edge to finish cutting up a bunch of wet carpet today . the guys razor knife gave out & i zipped thru it with the ffg vg10. got home stropped on the diamond loaded leather & was popping hair in 20 seconds.

But what i read on the spydercostore was endura 4 brown, weight 3.6 ounces and folded length 5 inches closed. A. G. Russell site showed for the same named knife, weight 2.8 ounces and closed blade 4 3/4 inches. That is what confuses me. The spyderco store ones also had other features not mentioned at a. G. Russell. Plus, the spyderco store one were $10 more expensive. For a feeble mind like mine it is all something i will have to work on a long time:-)) i appreciate you guys helping me.

i am sure looking forward to mine.

IMHO, the FFG and saber grind make it two totally different knives. The FFG as a pocket scalpel and the saber as a hard use knife. Get both and as you use them you'll find which one is better for which applications.
