Final finish of paper wheels

I'm sold on paper wheels because of the paper wheels thread. I'm wondering what the finish looks like compared to an actual stone. I can't find that answer without looking through tons of info. Do the finishes compare with say, 3.000 grit? 10,000 grit? Would anyone recommend getting a bench grinder with the grit wheel, the polishing wheel with the white rouge, and then a second electric motor or bench grinder with a finer diamond paste, say 100,000 grit or more?
