it's a friggin' weapon... Somehow I just didn't know what the Shallot was going to be like. I have been carrying a medium stockman, for years. A couple of weeks ago I got a Splinter with a Quince handle, which was a step up from the stockman (size wise). So when I ordered this Shallot, I thought it would be something like the Splinter. Imagine my surprise when I opened this Shallot..... WOW. It's time to go bear hunting. And when I flipped the blade open, that thing jumped out of there like it was ready... OK, I know this is not news to you guys, but this is a truly nice knife. It is not as sharp as my straight razors, but it did cut some hair, when I ran it over my arm.... IT IS SUPER SHARP! YEAH, I'M EXCITED...DUMBFOUNDEDand quite pleased
. just wondering about carrying it.. may be against the law. As far as final totals, well, I guess I am one of 598! I feel honored.

You won't find me very serious around here...but...
A knife is a tool.
A weapon is any object employed to damage a biological target.
They can be the same thing, but they are not mutually inclusive. I hate seeing knives labeled as weapons. My 26oz framing hammer is far more "dangerous" if we want to talk about "weapons". Ever seen anyone freak out over a hammer?
Perception is reality. Let's not add to a bad rap.

It's a real PITA to sharpen though. I can get it sharp, but I struggle to remove the burr...it just rolls left, then right, then left...grr.
