Yes that's a real scientific term . . . no . . . look it up.

The Swiss Army Mechanic knife has been discontinued.
WHAT ! ?
Have you gone insane ? !

I was just going to post that The Chef, my significant other, asked me to crimp some hooks closed on her pocket book type key case. When she saw me using the SAK Mechanic's little pliers she said "Now there is a knife I could go for ! Does it have a philips ?"
She said I could get her one for Christmas.
Mostly I was just going to report the fact that the "What the heck do I need a knife for and for sure not a slip joint because I hate picking them open "Lady is asking me to buy her a slip joint.
Of course this means she will need one of the knife picks for use on the nail nicks.
I was just going to ask about the coolest nail nicks and where to get them.

Now I'm reeling from the loss of the Mechanic and need counseling.
Like the little kid says at the 5 minute 19 second mark.

Never had a Vic SAK that was particularly difficult to open. I didn't know this model was discontinued. But dealers often will have them in stock until they sell out. I discovered that the Adventurer (side lock model) was discontinued and I immediately searched and found a few to buy as spares. Vic has re-introduced it as a liner lock model now.

She has thinnish nails and doesn't like the way it feels to open any nail nick knife.
I have no prob at all with my SAKs ; love 'em

What about a leatherman squirt ?
It's got the pliers that i believe should be able to do a little bit more, and not being a real nail nick should be even easier to open.
Otherwise a knife pick would work well on whatever Vic you go with.
