K this was (long) overdue but I live in Australia and dagger ownage is a big no no.

I ordered one ages ago and customs screwed me over, it was not a happy time.

Imagine my surprise when a couple of weeks ago I saw one for sale at my local Surplus store.

Only Problem.... cost

The thing is that while I can deal with Australia's poor exchange rate the thing cost me $299 more than I can really afford, but I have coveted one for many a year.

Now all I need is a Tigershark and I will have a full set of the current lot of Sog fixed blades :D

This is not a healthy addiction I am sure, but this is far cooler than drugs even if it is less socially acceptable (my friends are scared of knives... they bitch and moan, but then they don’t like concealed weapons either... what’s a fella to do?)

PS Don’t say get new friends these ppl are the most tolerant I have met in regards to blade carry, outside the army community.

PPS Aside from the ranting just wanted to say that I am very happy with the product, a good size, the sheath is really great and after a few minutes with my lansky sharpener the blade is hair splittingly sharp.:D

Very satisfied customer, once again.

On some level I would like a bad Sog product oneday:eek: , cause at least that way I would have something different to say...

PPPS Yeah I know those bastids are unlikely to grant my wish but I shall be watching with hawklike vision:p :p ;)

What I'd like to see is you playing with your knife around your friends while they are on drugs! :D

The Desert Dagger has to be among our most attractive knives. It just has a grace and beauty that sets it apart from other knives. Maybe because it's a dagger. Maybe because once you wrap your hand around it, there is an unparalleled balance and feel. Maybe it's just that raw sexy feel appeal! Whatever...it just a knife that requires experiencing.

I still need to get the Limited Leather handled version of this knife!:D

Yup, you DO need a Tigershark! I have one, but you ain't gettin' MINE.:).

BTW...Nice score on the Desert Dagger...That IS a NICE knife!

z17813: Right then, it sounds like you have the Pentagon and mini Pentagon as well.
Those along with your latest addition the Desert Patriot;
No wait... that's the Desert Dagger for you newer SOG-K troopers.
A really dependable trio to have around.

No $%@# ??!
You really have the entire range of SOG-K's minus the Tigershark?
Wow! That's some collection you have there.
Hope you find the last "missing part" to finally put an end to your addiction.

Sorry, there's no such thing as "the end" when you signed on to be a SOG-K collector, because there would still be lot's of other newer models coming your way.
Imagine, you would forever be haunted by the models you couldn't afford or worst yet, the one's your local dealer couldn't import.
Stay tuned to this forum or the SOG website for the latest additions you may never get a chance to own.

Krizzard, out.

What you need to do is post a picture of that collection. Just warn us first so we can put bibs on the computers to avoid them shorting out on the drool... :p

I too resently up a Desert Dagger. It is a nice knife and the serations are sharp:eek:. My right index finger found out the hard way.:o

I do a lot of camping and hiking here at college. I bet the DD would would great in the kitchen around the camp fire.:D

I feel so bad starting a thread and then not writting back...:(

We got screwed around with our internet connection so we told the complany to go play with themselves and got a new connection. Still cable, so I am still happy.

I would love to post a picture some time, I just do not yet have a digital camera (slack I know) it is this same lazyness that has left a Tigershark out of my collection for ever so long but this shall change.

I have decided that I will sell one of my older custom knives so that I can get some more production pieces, a hard call but at the moment with companies such as Sog (my wife hates you ;)) and Sypderco (I like the gunting, anyone else?) releasing such nice pieces I think that I need more knife money.

Or I could use that sexy dagger to rob somewhere... hmmm the possibilities are endless

You know VA Law states that it is illegal to carry a Dirk,Dagger or Bowie knife, Concealed. Why: Because these are the only knives that someone could ever use as weapons, and people here feel like that if you carry it concealed your going to use it to hurt someone, where as if you carry them out inthe open you can't by the laws of nature use them for anything other then cleaning your finger nails or something, and Lord only knows that no one will be concerned to see you carrying a 10 inch blade Bowie knife on your belt, because well....it's legal. Duh.

Sorry was just thinking how stupid some laws can be. Anyway thay desert Dagger is sweet. and I just purchased a Seal Pup, that I am quite happy with! now it needs a big sister to keep her company :)

The big sister to the Seal Pup is the Seal 2000...The BIG brother to the Seal Pup is the Tighershark, and anybody who has a Seal Pup MUST also have a Tigershark, so get with it and buy one!.:D.

Geez! Get that "SEAL family" (the two little sisters and the bigger brother) on the same campout ... The sibling rivalry would just get out-of-hand! :D

Yea I would like to see the TigerShark, but we have never carried them in the store...Workin on Mike to expand the SOG line at the store so I can play with them all . Any help her would be appreciated Ron :). I been also looking at the Northwest Ranger, I just wish it came with a plain edge and no serrations, I would pick one up in a heartbeat I think. Seen my Vison I sent in yet? I want to hear all the laughter about it.

Someone snaked the one they had at Plaza Cutlery out from under me. Went there with my dad, he was all ready to buy it (Big time dagger nut, and SOG nut thanks to me) and just a lonely empty spot on the shelf. The leather stacked handle is one of my all time favorite grips, has just enough grip and suppleness coupled with it looking verry classy.

The SCUBA DEMO is quite a knife and it was a tuff decision for me between it and the Recon Bowie. I got a SEAL Pup too, as a kik-around knife. You can read a small endorsment of that Pup at the bottom of this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=221501&highlight=SOG

I knew it was a sturdy knife but I am completely convinced now. Sheath would be great for diving too.
