You might remember this blade that I posted about three moths ago:

Back then I wanted to have it finished a couple of days later. No three months later I finally managed to get my lazy ass into the shop and finished the knife :).

Here are some unspectacular pics (I just realized that my picture taking skills declined much more than the knifemaking skills ;)):

I hope I can take some better shots in the near future, since you can't properly see the handle and guard.

Nevertheless I'm looking forward to you comments.

Regards Marcus

edit: some "better" ;) pics (although a bit dark) :D

I wouldn't worry about your picture taking skills when you can make a knife that looks like that, Beautiful knife.

Gorgeous knife. Line that thonghole, and it'll look even nicer.

That is a lean and clean piece. I think it's terrific! I would love to hear more about the specs and agree that lining the thong hole would be a good thing. Thanks for sharing the pics!

Thanks a lot for your nice comments.

I totally forgot the specs:

Blade lenght: 22 cm
handle lenght: 13 cm
Handlematerial: Maple burl
Steel: forged from a 70 year old quality file

There is a nice 1 cm broad hardening line that I was not able to capture in the pics.

The thong hole is supposed to be lined but somehow the tube got MIA :D.Things like this just happen in my "well organized" shop ;).
So I decided to finish it up now and put the lining in when I get hold of some SS tube with my next supply shipment.

I'll post some more knives (if I get them finished without getting lazy again ;) ) in the near future :)

Regards Marcus

No the wood isn't stabilized. I just filled all those holes that are visible in the picture with superglue.

Right now I'm looking for a professional wood stabilizer here in Germany, since several european makers told me, that as good as the reputation of WSSI is in the US, they seem to care quite a bit less for non-US customers.

And also shipping tons of wood to the US and back would be quite cost intensive :D.
