Please. Excuse my great photography.

You're building a nice collection there. The Gentleman Jim looks to be a great knife, its one of the Emerson models I've never owned. Make sure to post pics once it arrives!

Congrats! I really enjoy mine and it was the knife that turned me on to Emersons.

The Jim always stuck me as a stabby type. I like the looks of it and I'm sure it has great ergos. Anyways, be sure to post pics of it with your other Emersons!

For me, it is more the fast and precise type, as mine has yet to stab anything. :)

What does it mean to say a knife is fast? I get precise, I think; it cuts where you want to cut. But fast? Does it cut through something faster than another Emerson would?

I think the GJ is a great looking knife, and I definitely want one, but it's low on my wish list. There are other knives higher on my wish list that I think would be more practical as general-purpose or EDC knives. I'm not quite at the point yet of getting knives solely to collect for looks alone.

What I mean by "fast" is that it intuitively cuts where I mean to cut. I use a knife to open packages and envelopes more than any other single task. The GJim's point is right in front of my finger when I go to scribe a line, and it's edge is similarly "right there" when slicing. I am grasping for a way to get across my thoughts/meaning, but suffice it to say the Jim is an effortless knife for me to use. It waves great, it "thumbs" great, it cuts great, it pierces great, it carries slim and light - and IMHO it looks great. I find it to be a fantastic knife.
