Finally... a webpage

Hello Charles! Nice website! I bet you are quite happy to have a website up and running now.

Here's my suggestions. First, get rid of the pic on the front page. I seem to stare too much at it, and I get nothign done. HEHE :) Seriously, that front page is awesome, and that folder makes me want to look at more.

What I would change is this page: click here

The black font is hard to read against the purple. the blue font is better, but it should be larger.

That's it for things that should be changed. I really like the pic of all those gent's folders for A.G. Russell. That with pcis liek your bali protos shows the diversity you are capable of, and the quality of the pcis, such as the one on your front page, make me think you make quality knives.

I hope that helps.

As I would imagine in knife design, web page design requires certain restraint.

There's a ton of things you can do and include and show, what with fonts, colors, images, animations, sound, etc. etc. etc. We all remember when computers were coming of age and desktop publishing was all the buzz, people were turning out printed pages that looked like ransom notes.

IMHO, - the simpler, the better. When you navigate other's sites, undoubtedly you'll find things that turn you off.

Jakob Nielsen has a book out called, "Designing Web Useability" - Well done, lots of "before and afters" concerning web page design and web sites. This is money well spent, especially when you're just starting out doing the pages and have not committed yourself down an alley as yet that might be hard to change, if you wanted to change it.

Nice to see your site up and running Charles.I really like the pic. on your front page.:)

CRAP!...When I read the title of this thread, I thought that MAYBE REKAT had gone back in the knife-making business, and finally put-up a web-page....

...Nevermind....

The pages look great! BUT you need to change links so that they just update the current window, nothing is more irritating than having a half dozen windows open. Plus a lot of older computers with small amounts of memory won't allow too many windows to be open before they freeze up on ya.
