Finally added a DLC Skyline to my collection...to use a bit differently

You guys probably all saw this coming...trying to complete the whole look connecting my guns and my knives and I'm getting close! I thought I was just gonna be SOL as far as the clip goes since I'm using the stainless ZT clip but dern if ZT didn't show up at Blade with a perfect black one on the BW knives! Sweet! In a few months my dream Skyline will be complete! Although I did just now notice a pretty serious crack from a pocket clip screw hole all the way back to the tail of my scale...split right along the grain :( It's still useable but it will eventually probably fail. Anyways, shout out to Kershaw Guy Dave for this one! I ordered it Thursday and got it today! Awesome! I got two standard Skylines for two custom scale customers too but Dave didn't have any so I had to resort to BHQ who also got them to me today.

Dont think I have commented yet on any of your scale pics but those wood scales look really great, especially on the Skyline. It turns an edc into what I would call an artistic gentleman's carry blade. Very cool with the black blade also!
 
Oharal, great looking knife, the grips look like they came off of a .45auto., & an excellent choice of color matching up the scales & black blade.
An FYI that might work & I have used before. Try putting a small amount of woodworking glue down into the crack with a hypedermic needle and then gently clamp it for about 24-48hrs. This might work but being that the scales are so thin, there might not be a way of getting enough pressure without splitting it completely. You might also try wrapping the scale tightly with non-stick painter's masking tape too.

I'll have to give that a try. I don't think the crack will actually get any worse now that I've looked at it since the crack terminates at the screw hole for the clip it can't spread farther. It does look sketchy but only if you look closely. Soon I'm going to make another set for myself that is nicer and I'll probably give this set away to a forum member.
