I was checking in the Forum today and seen a notification from Buck knives about a post I made several years ago concerning 112's the Custom Shop and drop point blades..Well you CAN order one now! As a big 112 fan AND a big drop point fan I have been commenting on the lack of availability in the Custom shop for YEARS to be able to order one. In fact at the Blade Show years ago I personally asked CJ twice during the weekend to Pretty Please drop a box (or even a few) DP blades off at the CS for those of us who really like them..
Finally you can! Even better you can get a S35VN DP for what I consider a very reasonable upcharge of $30.00. THANK YOU BUCK! I'll be placing a order this week for one maybe even two. I've been so bummed about this for so long I lost interest in the CS and have not kept up with the new handle material now available. I have built one with NS Buffalo horn Finger groves dozens of times but now that Buck will let me order a DP (S35VN no less!) I'm kinda rethinking the Buffalo horn.. I noticed you can get satin nickel bolsters so that's a great choice I'll pick. But what do yall think about the new handle materials? I've not seen pictures posted of the new choices so if any of you has pictures please post. Thanks again Buck!
