I've burned through 4 plain Sebenzas but never was 100% satisfied (personally) with the look. I shelled out the xtra $$ for the micarta inlay and I have to say that I got a perfect example and it satisfies my taste for good looks!

Happy happy happy with it but nothing else came in the mail to cut with it. :(

Is there a way to remove the lanyard and still keep that lanyard hole plug in the handle? That would look even better.

congrads, stick some paracord inside the lanyard pin, just so there's a little sticking out, then burn the ends. That way you're not worrying about it falling out.

pics are necessary :p can't wait to get a micarta inlay later

I'm happy you finally found one that meets your requirements. I love my micartas.

The newer small sebenza has a shouldered pin that holds itself in. i'm sure the larges do too

I received my first micarta Sebenza last Thursday and I absolutely love it. I wish I'd gotten one sooner. Gonna have to get a large Insingo with micarta very soon.

I'm a little bit bummed out and hate calling CRK, but Chris told me to check my Sebenzas thoroughly before use.

I just got it out of the box again a little while ago and since it was low lighting in the living room, I went over it with a fine tooth comb (my Quark flashlight).

The micarta inlay on the lock side is cut/fitted just a "hair" short. The light reflects brightly from the "blade end" at the top and bottom where the inlay isn't filling the cut out completely.

I don't have a major issue with this since my old eyes didn't spot it earlier without some artificial help. My only concern would be for the integrity of the inlay over time and with use.

I hope Chris says it's in spec. and warranty if needed so I don't have to send it in already. :( Otherwise, the knife is really nice!

Edit: CRK has looked at excellent pics I sent and said it's definitely not a concern for any sort of damage in the future and if (Lord only knows what) anything should go awry with it. Send it in for repair under warranty.

Great service from CRK!

Don't think theres need for any concern regarding the integrity of the inlays. The 3M VHB double sided tape they use is incredibly strong.
From CRK website:
This is not your ordinary tape from the local hardware store. 3M VHB™ tape is used in a variety of industrial applications such as wings on aircraft, name plates, truck cabs and the mirrored ceiling panels used in the tunnels under the runways at Chicago O'Hare Airport

Don't be too bummed. From what I've read the adhesive they use is ridiculously strong so even if its cut just a hair too short it should be on there for the long haul.

Im sure you'll give em a ring tomorrow or shoot em an email. Here's hoping you don't need to send it in, best of luck.

And congratulations!
