After the looooooooooooooong wait for the BF Native, it has finally arrived!!!

So did my BF Sheath! Cool!

What can I say? It's probably the smoothest operating knife that I have (and I have quite a bit here), which amazes me, since it's a lockback, and most of my lockbacks are rather tough to open unlike the BF Native.

The handles are grippy, the blue color is okay. There is a drip spot on my blue clip though, but it's all cosmetic.

The only thing I didn't like about it is the fact that the cutout for accessing the hole isn't enough. The hole is showing only 3/4 of itself. I had to use the very tip of my thumb to open it.

The blade is... well... SHARP! I was tempted to sharpen it even more, but I think I'll wait until it dulls out first (which can be pretty long, because I intend to display it only). It's a bit hard to wipe though, because of the BFC markings, which I fear I might rub off if I wipe too hard.

The STARMATE came almost the same time as the BF Native. It's one knife which I think I'll keep for a long time.

It's #673 (I was asking for #666 but apparently, someone got it first) I will be testing it and the new Military that arrived a day after, to duplicate my testing of the first Military.

3 CPM440V bladed knives in 2 days... NOT BAD!

Hi Dan,

I'm glad your parcels finally arrived. I know from experience that waiting for those overseas packages can cause serious stress levels

.

I agree with your comments on the Native except for the blade hole. I haven't found it a problem but then I'm used to the small hole on my Wegner Jr. and the practically inaccessible hole on the Viele, anything would be easy after that

.

Anyway, enjoy your new toys

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow....in Australia it's tomorrow already.

Hi Clay!

Yep, it did put me in so much stress that I'm grumpy most of the time. But they finally arrived (all Spydercos) and I am very happy indeed.

About the hole, I guess I'm just used to the Military, the Endura, and the Wegner blades, that I forgot to notice the fact that the BF Native doesn't have the "hump" that these three has, that's why the hole is somewhat recessed into the handle. But I guess I can live with that.

I think I'll cool off buying knives in the meantime.. I now have so many I don't know what the hell's wrong with me already!

Danny,

Must be like Christmas in August. So many toys, what to play with, eh?

Yep, you're right, Sing!

It may feel like Christmas right now, but it's Halloween on my bank account.. hehehe..

Actually, I'll be putting these aside first, and maybe toy with them later. I got an EDI Genesis and a BM Purple Leopard along with the Spydie bunch, so it's basically confusion time for me.

Congatulations Danny, The BF Native is now my favorite knife. Everybody that sees it is very impressed with it. Fflip it open a few dozen times and the small hole won't bother you and you'll be amazed at how much smoother the action will become. I think I am going to have to order another one before all the other forumites come to their senses

Know what, Bill? I was just comparing it with the Endura the other day. The BF Native is simply much more precision-made than the Endura or any other lockbacks I've handled. This one is really smoooooooooooth...

The BF Native is a production run, but I guess it can also be due to the fact that it's a limited run, hence more attention was given to it. The blade is dead center in-between the G10 handles when closed. Minor cosmetic scratches, no problem. Nobody's perfect.

And it's hefty too, for a knife its size, did you notice?

Me too, will be preparing to get another one for daily carry, as this one will definitely be for display only.

Bill, I asked my sister to look for a copy. So far, she hasn't found one yet. As I work the night shifts, I don't have time to look around for it myself. But she's looking.

I'll let you know once I get a copy. I'm sure it'll be good reading.
