Couldn't resist the superior blade steel in a knife that I already love.

I even sold my D2 mini grip to get it.

Overall, I'm just as happy with the knife as I thought I would be. The blade profile is excellent, and I love the stonewashed finish on the blade.

It cuts like a razor out of the box. Gotta love S30V!

Congrats to you!
Since you've had both the D2 and now the S30V, let us know how they compare over time.

I'm just waiting for my first BM Mini Grip, looking forward to it and maybe to upgrading to this later!

The Ritter is a great knife...and no matter what anyone says those handles will take a beating and still look like new. Also the stone washed blade barely shows any scratches. I upgraded...in a way..to the HK14210, I prefer the handle ergo's of the 14210, but wish it had the blade of the Ritter. congrats on your new knife:thumbup:

The Ritters are outstanding knives... I've got 4 of 'em (2 stonewashed and 2 black) and they stay on my "protected" list so they don't get sold or traded. I carried the mini-R as EDC for a couple of years and added the big Ritter for hiking / camping / outdoor stuff when needed. They've never failed to do whatever was needed.

Like DaveReb, I wish the 14210 had gone with a Ritter-type blade instead of that thin recurve. I really like the 14210, but I like it in spite of the blade, not because of it. The 14205 has a more useful blade shape for me, but it's too large for me to EDC.
