I caved yesterday and placed an order for a plain edged Military. I should get it by Tuesday. I've had my eye on this model for a couple of years. I was able to put it off though by buying the entry level model, the VG-10 Endura. And since the Endura is such a great knife, I didn't see any need to get the Military, especially since the blade shape is so similar. But I shouldn't have tried to fight it. Despite all my best efforts, this knife kept calling to me. I justified my purchase by convincing myself that these are really two different knives. VG-10 vs. S30V, linerlock vs. lockback, G-10 vs. FRN, ad infinitum... So I guess I'll see if on Tuesday if the Military can live up to all the hype. :D

Man these Spydercos are addicting.

Congrats!!! Be sure to post a pic of it when it shows up. I am going to have to break down and order one of these myself next week. I can't stand it anymore.

I can't decide if I want the regular Mili or the black bladed Mili. If they had the black blade Mili with OD green G-10 scales, then I would have to order two of those.:D

kamagong,

Have fun with your new Millie, and I'll bet it lives up to and exceeds your expectations.

Best wishes, Jeff/1911.

It's here! I received it about fifteen minutes ago. I was actually surprised because I wasn't expecting it until tomorrow, but I guess that UPS doesn't get President's Day off.

This sure is a lot of knife. I was afraid it would be a lot like the Endura, but I'm glad that I was proven wrong. The Military's profile is similar to the Endura, but the similarities end there. The Military's blade is substantially thicker, but I'm curious to see which knife will be the better performer. Will it be the Military's thicker, flat-ground knife, or will it be the Endura's thinner, saber-ground blade?

I'm also glad to see that the knife isn't too big. Don't get me wrong, it's a large knife, but I don't foresee any problems in carrying this baby.

This nested liner lock is something else entirely. It's very intriguing. It seems like a hybrid between the liner lock and the integral lock. Instead of concentrating all the force on the pins, the force exerted on the lock is distributed to the side. Ingenious...

One small gripe though, and I admit that I'm nitpicking here. The blade, while sharp, has a slight burr. No problem though as I can get rid of it with a few swipes on my strop.

Man it's hard to cycle this knife while typing. :D
