My youngest turned 18 yesterday

Before the hate mail comes, I was just being funny :D

He still lives with me and always has, as did his sister til she went to school.

I have had full custody of them both for 16.5 years, there birth mother walked out on us 17 years ago. I was a single Dad for a while.

he will be with us at least until school is over then he plans to work in Alaska for the summer. then back home then when he is 19 maybe somewhere else.

congrats, now go out and buy a gun!:cool:

oh, and next time think twice before you unzip....
.

Congrats!!
I just finished court and was "awarded" 50/50 custody (though it has been that way for over a year) so I'm done with my support as well!!!

Congrats to your son and welcome to Alaska even if it's just for the summer.

Lifetime concealed carry permit first :D

Don't need one in AZ, I still have one to send a message, but technically you do not need it we have " Constitutional Carry " here :D:thumbup:

Congratulations on surviving the long haul.
Sounds like the reward is a summer of freedom! :D

I am hoping they go for the constitutional carry up here soon.

I couldn't remember if AZ had one or not.

Well, it saves $150 bucks or so

Trust me you are no where near done! You will be paying for the kids till you are old and grey!

I am 33, and still my parents are always ready to help out!

Good to hear he survived till 18 at least!

Congrats  I was looking up child support law for a coworker whose had 50% of his paychecks deducted for the past 22 years and now owes a bit over 100,000$ because he wasn't able to make what the state thought he should make. His kids are now 24 and 27 and the debt still stands, his license has been revoked for a long long time due to not being able to make the full payments. he's just never been able to make enough working full time. It is a brutal and bulletproof system of hell for someone who ends up on the receiving end. I would give up fingers if it gaurenteed that I'd be allowed to raise my own kids rather than end up stuck at the end of that barrel.

Well sir, congratulations on that accomplishment and a big one it is.

Funny I was just going to start a thread the other day that ask how many had bought a ex-wife a house and paid child support for two kids and then paid them half of your retirement.

man that will cause a fellow to be frugal at the grocery store...

4X's for me already. 2X's more and a Granddaughter on the way in August. If people ask me what I collect, I usually tell them "Kids".

Congratulations to you and your son! Only 17 years and 6 months to go for me... the mother is still on board though, which makes it feel like 17.5 years only  ;)
