Keep them? toss 'em?
what to do, those pesky, ugly little boxes, taking up space and sitting on the shelf doing nothing...

Why the hell would someone care so much about these things when you buy a CRK? I know I held on to them in case I wanted to sell a knife later, but these are the only boxes I have, all the other knife boxes by different manufacturers get thrown away..

So I found out a couple of things
1. I'm never gonna sell my CRK's
2. if the box or lack thereof is a dealbreaker or a price downer when you buy a knife, you obviously ain't got a clue to what it's all about and you don't deserve the knife. Oh yeah, see point nr 1 :)

Toss 'em!!

but wait, someone else likes them....
actually, three little people in my house

So right now, they live a happy life, but not in daddy's knife closet anymore ;)

That's good usea, zyhano. I'm now considering the same for mine, which will, well..... (see rule #1).

From housing a trusted pocket knife to playing garage for a child-dispatched sat-van... that's quite a range that box can play.

Thats a good idea !!! I dont have kids, but I am sure I could find a use for them. Maybe it will help me keep my CRK collection intact. I had 30 CRK not too long ago. After my XM quest, I will hate to look and see how many I have now

Good use for the boxes......I must be one of the weird ones, but I like the different boxes knives come in. I put the knives in the boxes I do not EDC that often in the safe and when I take it out after some time its like unboxing something again.....Like being a kid all over....you know whats in it, but it still is fun!

+1 I always keep the boxes! Well except for 1 that I accidently cut the side of. Still have the box, but it's on bad shape now.

yeah, it is. and they are actually quite strong, they're surviving my kids onslaught for about three days now :)

Hey, but you have the xm's to make up for it

yeah, it is nice to have them all, but I don't have a good place to store them dry and clean without them being in the way.

You know for me it's like all that other sh*t you keep for all those years. All of a sudden you find out you havent' used it for years, will not have a use for it for years to come and it's just a waste of time and thought to have them lying around ;)
We've all been there. It's probably only because it is boxes of our nice knives we have a strange emotional attachment to that it becomes important to us.

Since you don't know if your tastes or finances might change, you could unfold the boxes and store them in a much reduced (flattened) form. On eBay I have seen boxes for sale especially Rolex. Don't listen to me. I am a certified pack rat.
