I have been looking for a dedicated skinning knife for over a year. Looked at lots of different models by tons of makers: Bone Collector, Condor, customs, all sorts. Never saw anything that was quite what I was looking for. Lots of promise in custom makers, but very little in anything stainless. Well today I went in to see my favorite local blade pusher and found exactly what I've been looking for.
Enter the White River Knife and Tool Knucklehead:
Sorry for the crappy cell shot, camera batteries are dead.
Skeleton design so I don't have to worry about blood getting in anywhere (important when dealing with pigs), S30V so no worry about it rusting in the swamp (I've had rust form within a couple hours on a misty day with high carbon), should have good edge retention as well. Insanely comfortable grip. And hey, even a built in bottle opener (the little tab in the rear circle). I can't wait for hunting season so I can try this bad boy out!
I had never seen WRKT in person but they have some very nice looking knives. I may be picking up one of their edc models.
