After returning a defective Lumapower LM25 (STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!) I opted to exchange it for a Titanium Innovations IlluminaTi CA1-AL, which is the aluminum version. On receiving it today I am very impressed with it. Both it's compact size, fit and finish and brightness are all great. According to the site it has L/M/H settings putting out 3/35/132 Lumens respectively. LED is CREE XP-G G2, more of a flood. The light comes in a very attractive little case with a nice removable clip and also a removable keychain- very nice quality on the keychain, no worries of it falling apart. Also a couple spare o-rings and instruction manual. I put the clip on instead of the keychain and it's a very handy little light. So small I forget it's there. This will probably become my go-to edc light and relegate my Micro Stream to work duty. I generally prefer clickies but on a light of this size I think it could be awkward. Overall I gove this one 2 thumbs up. This is day 1 for me with it but so far I don't find anything I don't like. If you're on the market for a AAA edc light, it's worth a look for sure.

And now some pics!

Another great staple from over at BLF is the Thrunite ti, there's a version with like .06 lumens/60 and a 10 lumens/60, all for about 9 or 10 bucks. I've seen that light before, looks solid, maybe a tad overpriced, but barely. This reminds me, gotta get some AAA lithium primaries! I can't seem to find a place that lists it as having an xpgg2 unfortunately, it'd be well worth the price if it did have that. Do you have a link for the specs?

If you put the clip on backwards, you can clip the light to the bill of a baseball cap. This model will tail stand.

Nice choice! The Illuminati is my EDC as well. It's definitely more of a flood-style light, but it's got great throw distance for it's size. Battery life is awesome, too. With regular use I change the battery maybe 4-5 times a year. (Just put the third fresh battery in after 6 months or so.)

132 lumens from an AAA?? WOW.

Lasts about an hour on that setting. The 3 lumen setting is bright enough to see around a dark room, and it lasts closer to 30 hours.

I have a similar (older) one in titanium. Great light, but the tiny (and I mean tiny) keychain ring hole prevented me from ever carrying it. I keep it in my backpack inside my Leatherman sheath with a lithium battery, for emergency uses. I don't know if the newer ones have a larger keyring hole, one that fits a ring larger in diameter than a wire, but I hope they do. If they do, I might have to get one.

You mean the split ring that holds it to the keychain? It is very small but seems sturdy enough. You could always use that split ring to attach it to whatever you like.

I don't have a Preon 0, but a Preon 1. It's slightly longer than my IlluminaTi when I don't have the clicky on it. The IlluminaTi is brighter, but the Preon 1 has more modes. I like 'em both a lot, but I carry my IlluminaTi more.

I was searching for a good AAA light a while back and came across this one. Looks like a great choice, but I ended up going with the Peak Eiger AAA in stainless due to the simple durability. They're not as readily available, but I'm very happy with mine. I have one with the cool white emitter and one with the high CRI emitter, both very sturdy, plenty bright, potted electronics and made in USA.

I just looked up that Peak Eiger, might be my next AAA flashlight!
