I just received my CRKT M18-04 over the weekend... What a knife!

It's got everything I've been looking for in a folding pocket knife... I've been buying knives over the last year and a half (since finding this site!) trying to find my "perfect" knife. I carried each knife for a few weeks until I either found it's weakness or spotted a new feature that needed to be added to the "got-a-have" list.

Well boy's, This new M18 seems to fill the bill quite nicely.
It's got a similar blade shape to my Boa, but no sarations...:barf:
It's got the walker lock to back up the liner lock, so when I'm doing something I shouldn't do with a folder I know the thing won't fold on me.;)
It's got the Carson "flipper" so it's quick to deploy.. but doesn't need a slide lock to keep it safe.
The action is as smooth as any knife I own.
The thumb studs actually work! and from both sides (for either hand!)
It's got heavier side bolsters for my big meaty hands.
It's got good grip on the finger tip side... this also makes it easy to handle in the dark since one side has a tactile que. So the G10 molded inserts are both nice looking and functional.
It's clip is removable so I can rig it for use my EDC sheath.
The blade sharp as he!! right out ot the box..
The AUS8 steel should be easier to maintain than 440V or ATS34, but hold an edge longer than 420, 425, AUS6 or 440.

There are only a couple things to fix... needs a bigger lanyard hole. No problem to fix with a sharp drill bit. And I need to find a torx for the pocket clip screws (what the heck size are these things anyway?)

So I've found my "perfect" knife... at least until you guys start talking about some other feature "I just gota have"

By the way, My wife is ready to hunt down each one of you and slap you in the head, just for getting me caught up in collecting knives. I have averaged 2 a month since I found you... does the habit get worse or better? AND now I'm into flashlights, pens and watches...
Will it ever end? (I hope not:D)

You've but scratched the surface. Soon your wife will do a heck of a lot more than slap us in the head! It gets way worse. Wait until you start buying customs. We're talking thousands and thousands of dollars.:D  ;)

Your right about that Scott Dog...
That's way beyond head slapping...
More like a$$ kicking... and since she can't find you... my butt becomes her target...
:D

Its a sickness. I was sorry to see you mention pens, watches, etc. I started years ago with guns, now I'm in a country where I can't have guns so I got into knives. Then $800 fountain pens; Mont Blanc, Catier, Aurora. Then Rolex, Breitling, and Omega watches. Boys and their toys...

It has gotten so bad that once in a while a credit card will crawl out of my wallet in the night, go on the net, and buy a new knife without even asking me.

Its a great knife, i have a M-18-03 that i just finished putting a hair poping edge on about 10 min ago. You will find that the aus-8 will take a great edge. mine is so sharp the hair leaps off my arm when it see's the edge comeing :D

My parents never believe that that really happens, when they check my bank statements once a year. I've also tried pleading insanity (seriously), and it didn't work either.

Lotsa........lotsa........green will go out, but lotsa........lotsa........steel will come in. A very equitable and fair tradeoff! and what the dog said!

No guns? :D
Sounds like you need to start collecting guns, that way all those knives, flashlights, pens and watches won't seem so costly (besides they all go to together don't they?);)
