I spotted one of these on one of the Facebook groups a while back and instantly loved the pattern and all the stag I've seen so far has been fantastic. I picked this one up at the Oregon Knife Show on Friday and loved how the top portions of stag are polished but it still has some ridges and popcorn patterning to it. Fit and finish, walk and talk etc are every bit as nice as any of my GEC's. My question though is the date stamp has two different years stamped on the tang. 2007 and then 2008 right below it. Do you think this was just an error and they accidentally put the wrong stamp then just re-stamped it with correct date or what? Doesn't bother me in the slightest it just has me curious as to what he story is and if anybody else has one of these with two different date stamps. Also did they use 1095 blade steel on these? Okay enough talking and questions heres a few pics I took yesterday.

It is 1095. As to the double dates...not sure. This was just before we bought the brand. I believe they were made by GEC.

Great knife Jake! Here's my uneducated guess. The blade may be a 2007 left over used in a 2008 pattern. Just a guess

Beautiful knife. Congrats on finding such a nice example.
I've no clue on the double date stamps.
