I have been looking for a gentlemanly folder for dressier occasions. Looked at the Lionsteel Opera and Daghetta but had trouble deciding. Well today I took a friend of mine who was looking for a .357 to my favorite little gun shop. It's a father and son that run it and the father used to be a big time knife dealer at shows and such, but has gotten out of it since he's getting older. Every now and then he digs out a few and puts them in the case. Well today I saw one and fell in love with it. Turns out the designer was a personal friend of his. He said he has one of the same model from the first production run that Mr Centofante gave him. Here's my new beauty:

Sorry for the crappy phone pics, I'll replace them with proper ones later

For those unfamiliar with the 1615, as I was, it's a nice little assisted Wharncliff with mother of pearl inlays. Now I am not a fan of assisted openers or Wharncliffs but I instantly fell in love with this little guy. How can you not love mother of pearl inlay? Blade is marked Jul 07.

Those are beautiful little knives. Just be careful with the locking mechanism. If you forget that it is locked, and try to force it open (which you can with enough force) you can bust it (knife will still work, just won't lock anymore).

Some of them had Ken Onion and Frank Centofante's signature on them, etched.

I have a maroon one, but am thinking about trading it for the polished one. Its a nice little knife.

Great little knife. I carried mine for quite a while and it handled everything I asked of it. Thinking its time to throw it in the EDC rotation again.

That's awesome. Really cool that he is friends with Frank. I have looked those and agree they would make just about the perfect dress knife.

I have one exactly like this, picked it up a few years ago at that big knife store in TN while on a work trip. Great little knife, resides in my Chive collection knife roll; maybe someday I will pry it out and carry it... lol!

I lost the leather sheath thing on mine. I really like the way these look. I found it just a bit small. The wharncliffe is awesome though. I wish I'd known about the G10 Needs Work soon enough to have picked one up. Wharnies seem to work really well for opening boxes and even a large one doesn't seem to scare coworkers like pulling out an 0560 :P

The Centefontes are pretty cool and IMO often overlooked knives in the Kershaw world. But then again I'm a sucker for wharncliffes.

I have found I don't get the strange looks from this one as I do my Peewee, I guess non knife people are friendlier towards folders. On the contrary people go oogly moogly over this little knife. "Oh that's beautiful." And the like.

I get the same type of comments with my all-black Leek. Kershaw's range of styles is fantastic, some of them are great for your Sunday best, some of them are perfect for hard use.
