I first want to say that this forum had me hooked on CRKs about two years ago. I have to apologize for not posting much, but I'm at a stage of life where my time is limited. (Married with 6 children under the age of 12) I do read the posts on my iphone and have gained a huge amount of knowledge these past two years. I have collected a number of Sebenzas and have enjoyed each one of them a lot. There has been one Sebenza I have really wanted to obtain over this time but to no avail.
A Large BG42 Regular Sebenza is the knife that has been calling my name for awhile, but as you know there are not too many around for sale. Yesterday I made my routine search on a popular auction site and out of no where I saw this Large BG42 Sebenza New in Box for a buy it now price that was lower than a new 21 would cost. I was shocked and kept thinking that it was a mistake. I clicked the buy it now button and took a chance. I later contacted the seller and he was kind enough to fill me in on the history of the knife. He says he was the original owner and bought the knife from a popular knife store in Arizona. He never used the knife and had it stored away since 2000. I found out he just listed the knife 42 minutes before I bought it. I'm surprised it didn't go faster than that. I hope to get it in the mail in a couple of days. I'm holding my breath to make sure there is no S stamped on the blade. I'm looking forward to seeing how this steel will perform. Here are some pics taken by the seller. Thanks for taking a look.
I do have one question. Can someone tell me what year CRK introduced the new clip design? I'm so use to seeing BG42 Sebenzas with the flat clip without the bump. Was this clip introduced in 2000 when the Classic came onto the scene?
Thanks,
