I went to the local gun show this past weekend and came home with some new toys which I had been wanting for a good while now....a ZT 0300 and a Glock 17 (GEN4). Unfortunately, due to the expense on the Glock, I was short on funds for the 0300, so I traded some other knives for it, one of which was my 0200. I don't feel bad about it, and the dealer that I dealt with is also a fellow member here at BF, so everything worked out great. However, I've come to a crossroads of sorts and have been feeling this way for a while now. For some reason, I've hit a lull in my knife obsession and upon acquiring the 300, I've come to find that I'm not interested in adding to my collection any further at this moment in time.
Due to trading the 0200 off, I'm now left with three ZTs(among a few other knives) but with these three, I think my bases are pretty well covered. The 0350 for lighter/smaller EDC duty, the 0550 for medium sized chores that may come up and the 0300 for no nonsense, EDC and beyond requirements when I want a heavy duty folder. (Of course, the other two are no slouches in the tough folder category either
) I might pick up another 0200 in the future but it would only be added to my little collection since I don't think I'd ever carry it due to the weight and deep carry pocket clip just not being a good combo for me.
I've had lulls like this in the past, at that time my interest was in Spyderco knives, but I have to say that Zero Tolerance knives fit a niche for me that previous companies didn't. I can honestly say that I am fully confident with these blades in my pocket....not all at the same time of course or my pants would probably fall down due to the weight, lol....but they are definitely the toughest knives I've ever carried and I love that feeling of 'overkill' in my EDC blade.
With my new 0300 and G17....I'd say that I'm well covered for now. At least until maybe next week......Lol
Btw, they had a bald eagle at this gun show for anyone that wanted a picture with it....truly, a majestic bird.
Sorry for the crappy pics.
