i went to bass pro shop recently and bought kershaw cryo and leek, now i love speedsafe, i need buy more
i cannot wait for cryo 2 and black cryo

and i really hope that i wont use superglue to put my cryo back

Doesn't look like it. Speedsafe is pretty sweet, all this talk about de-assisting, I like it and don't see any de-assists for me.

Still going on with the super glue jokes? Sheesh!

"Not de-assist any knives". You gotta at least try the Blur. Easily one of the smoothest knives out there.

i forgot to clarify up that i wont be deassisting flipper models but cf blur is on my list from kershaw guy, i will be deassist that one for sure

Recently decided to de assist my 0350TS and love it so much. Like it a good bit more than the assisted version.

I am in the minority, on this site at least, that prefers the blur assisted. I do love unassisted flippers such as my Zing and EnerG but if I only have thumbstuds I just like the speedsafe feature. Thinking about picking up my first Leek here soon.

De-assisted is more fun to play with. The only practical benefit I can think of is that sometimes you'd need to open the blade slowly and silently and it would be harder to do with the speedsafe.

Some knives de assist better than others. The Blur is definitely the best de assisted Kershaw that I own. I de assisted my 0350 OR but it was tough getting the blade off the liner and keeping the opening smooth, thus I "re assisted" it. However, I've heard many guys de assist the 0350 with ease. Probably just a preference there for me.

The most important thing is that the knife has a proper detent when attempting to de assist. If it does not, ewww... I see all sorts or pocket injuries in your future. But I will agree that the Leek is a MUST for assisted. It just feels so much better assisted on that particular model. So to sum up this repeat of everything that has already been covered in this thread:

Some knives are good de assisted.

Some are good assisted.

You need a detent.

It's all about preference.

But the option is always nice ;)
