Finally got a LMS

I just traded into a prime secimen never used or carried LMS and it is hot. The MS is a very well designed knife, simple, robust and purpose-driven, but the 1/4 stock used in the MS was a little hefty and I parted with it, not happy about selling it but not happy with carrying it.

The LMS feels ideal for use as a carry weapon. The knife is light enough that it will not wear on the back or belt if carried all day in an urban setting and shares all the proper combative attributes of its huskier brother, but faster. Point on target, great grip, non-scary appearance, plus the added acceleration and recovery possible by shaving a bit of weight, I am sorry I did not get one earlier. The cost of acquisition was justified entirely.

I am doubly pleased that the sheath has a reversible J-clip and is comfortable for IWB carry. I sold the MS because the sheath was older style with a fixed loop on the rear of the sheath and was uncomfortable as hell, and the uncomfortable sheath with too much weight made the knife a pain to take with me.

Mr. Busse, thank you.

Glad you got it. The LMStreets are very sought after and it is great to hear that you found one in such great shape.

Congrats!!!!!

Jerry

I recently got a LMS also. My girlfriend gave it to me for a Christmas present. It was my first Busse as well.

Yours in Nuclear Newbiness,

Randall

P.S I just called Bladeart(where she got the LMS) and picked up a Kenny Rowe sheath for it!

I have carried it daily for ten days now, very nice indeed.

I have decided to have a new sheath made for it that rides IWB a lot more horizontally with a soft belt loop so that it is ammenable with all types of dress, the J Clip is not ideal for a dress belt, as it moves around too much. It also hits funny on some of the belt loops as found on certain pants I own due tot he width of the J Clip.

The knife itself -- Mommy. Not to gush, but very impressive. Sharp and basically indestructible as near as I can tell. I have stuck it into trees repeatedly (many many times) while out walking the pup and doing draw/ cut/ stick drills and the point shows no sign of this despite less than ideal angle of impact. It is a fantastic knife for reverse grip work and carries as though born to the purpose.

I really think you oughta bring this back as a production piece, Jerry. In addition to the LMS I suggest perhaps a version, 4.5 , with a false edge? That will get up and move even easier, and I recall a custom MS double edge a while back.

Parker,
Sounds like you have been giving the LMS a good work out. ;) I have a couple and they are great knives. I have to agree it would be nice to see these come back into production but don't plan on it ;):D

Yeah, another limited run of LMS'. Satin finish with bright yellow
micarta handles!!! Yeah, cool!!;)

Okay, test results are in. The LMS in the Frank Sigman sheath is a super nice carry, either IWB SOB or strong-side hip/leg crease. Sigman is a damned genius about his carry work and certainly a pro in the field. On top of that, I got my new sheath back from him five days after sending it to him.

Satin and Yellow? Chip, what freaking planet is that from? LMS= Lightweight Mean SOB (carry knife that you can pry rails fro the ties with) If Jerry every does another run, I pray he would do so in grey phosphate, no crinkle and quilted handles with dull brass tubes. The lower profile and moer utilitarian the better with this guy.

:D Parker, I like it, loud and proud!!:D

Besides it would have to be totally different for another
run of LMSs. And that would be totally different.:D

So gdogg, you've had the LMS your "Girlfriend" gave you at Christmas for almost two months now. Are you planning on making that "Girlfriend" your wife for Valentine's Day?

I mean, come on, most of the guys here would give away most anything, except their other Busses of course, to have a girl give them INFI....

Mark

Well... Not really. We like it pretty much as it is! I am trying to hint my way into a new Busse for Valentines though!
Randall

P.S. Dont worry she will get something good for Valentines Day!

Parker, the MS series definately has a huge fan following, and it's well deserved from what I can see, congrats on your new Busse :)
